Brenda Starr's desk at the Flash, 1941

I'm old enough to remember when newsrooms had typewriters, but don't I wish I had Brenda Starr's wardrobe.

Dale Messick's Brenda Starr is one of my favorites; I read her adventures in the New York Daily News in the 1960s, when her hairdo was a bouffant so popular in that era (at least in the early part of the decade).

Today I am officially retired. But the things I love to do--writing, reading, crafting, collecting--that continues.

Here's to the work we love that keeps us going.
