Arthur Rackham, 1909

Dover has a new series of  postcards based on the illustrations of Arthur Rackham. Click here to read more about Rackham and his art.

  1. Wonderful. The shadow makes it like a horror fairytale. I had never heard about Arthur Rackham before, but his style is comparable to that of the Dutch artist Anton Pieck. He was always called Dickens-like. I have several postcards with his pictures. Greetings from Amsterdam.

  2. I have to say I hadn't realized until now how scary Rackham's work is. Full of foreboding, trees and animals coming to life in threatening ways.
