She is gorgeous. Any idea on what year she was printed?
The Marian Howard book says this doll was believed to have originated in Germany as Her Imperial Highness, the Arch Duchess Dagmar Alexandria of Russia, born in Dec. 28, 1868 (hence the 1880s guess). Howard says it's apparent that McLoughlin copied the doll and renamed it for American consumption.
I also was able to bid and win some wonderful stuff. I won the boston sunday herald scrapbook, the demorest doll & dresses of 1895, some uncut singer sewing lady of 1905, and other antique pds. I also won the sandra vanderpool lots, the deanna williams lots & 1 of the jim howard lot. I can't wait to get the items! I remember meeting Letty Schwarz at the 2013 PD Convention in Los Angeles. She was so very king and I was able to see that lovely scrapbook of handmade pds at the convention and I even took some photos of it.
How wonderful! You scored some great things there.
