Mom and baby calendar art c. 1940s

Found last summer in an antique shop near Dekalb, Il. I love everything about this illustration: the warm and glowing light of an unseen fireplace, the wintry scene outside, proud mom, content babe, and the loyal pup. Also: the Priscilla curtains, upholstery design, donkey planter, hairstyle and dress all evoke the 1940s.

  1. Sweet picture. I remembering ironing Priscilla curtains!! In the days before all of the easy care fabrics, they had to be starched, dampened, rolled up to have the dampening to permeate the entire article, then ironed. What a chore!! That part of the good old days I don't miss, that's for sure! :-) Carol

  6. No markings of any kind, except that number in the lower right hand corner, so I'm guessing this was from a salesman's catalog.
