The Story of Holly and Ivy

A favorite book  when I was a child. Written by Rumer Godden, illustrated by Adrienne Adams.

  1. I loved this book, well, actually I loved all her books about dolls when I was a little girl. My favorite was Miss Happiness and Miss Flower who (if I remember correctly) also arrived at Christmas time (wrapped in cotton wool and placed in a cardboard box . . . all the way from San Francisco). Thank you so much for a great Christmas memory!

  2. I love this book and read it to my kids every Christmas! We even have an ornament that we pretend is "the fairy"!

  4. Rumer Godden was one of my favorite authors as a kid. I didn't know the name, I just knew exactly where in the kids section of the local library that the books lived. Last year, I went back, found them again- by location, not by author- and re-read all of the ones I loved. This was one of them. It's so neat to see other people loved her books as well.

Miss Happiness and Miss Flower was my favorite, as well.
