Boots, c. 1920s

A newspaper paper doll, with clothing to color never fails to inspire others to design their own wardrobe...

as one little girl did in the 1920s, above and below...

Margaret Menamin was inspired to copy and color the doll, and create dresses from magazine fashion photos, artfully adapted to the doll, a Menamin specialty...

  2. Wonderful! That is what my paper doll playing friend and I did when we got together. It was a much slower paced world back in the late thirties and early forties and we were still "playing" with paper dolls in late elementary school but it was more creative "play" I think. Maybe that's why I love cutting out applique pieces. Carol

Hi Linda ! This is some find. Of course Margaret' outfits are wonderful. I also had to smile on the butterfly/bumble bee outfit. It is so great that these things have been preserved for us to enjoy.

  4. I'm so glad these home-made paper dolls brought back good memories. Wish I still had the ones I made 40 years ago. I re-posted the first three pictures so they can be clicked on and copied. I was resizing the pictures wrong, so they couldn't be enlarged. Think I fixed it now.
