I must have posted this one way back, but couldn't resist posting it for this Sepia Saturday theme. How often do we resole or repair shoes these days? We don't wear many things out, do we. I remember as a teenager always putting small taps on the toe and heel of new shoes, to make the sole last longer. Haven't done that in years.

Great postcards! The kitten in the boot being torn apart looks a bit alarmed. I do have a pair of Birkenstocks that need repairing, thanks for reminding me.

It's a throw away society today. This is a great advert with the cats.
ReplyDeleteA nice post for a farewell to this pair of shoes. The dog has managed to bite a big hole in the toe so he can get that tail.

I wonder what those naughty kittens were up to? You’re so right about shoe repairing. I remember those tips too!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteI remember getting taps as well, and I remember when our shoe guy got the rubber taps in. I prefered those because they were quiet.
ReplyDeleteI remember taps, but never cared for the racket they made...
ReplyDeleteLovely card.

Cute card. I collect old tradecards with pictures of cats.
ReplyDeleteI remember those taps. I always wore the heels off in uneven fashion. In fact, I still have an old pair of shoes from high school in their original box and each has one of the heal taps.
