I didn't win this lovely trio of Elsie Dinsmore paper dolls that were on offer at the auction of the Cynthia Musser collection in January, but they were sure nice to see. I think these dolls are ca. 1915.
Actually, the date according to the auction site is 1918, so I wasn't too far off. Clothing for young people was not closely mimicking adult clothing at this point, so hemlines for children and preteens would be shorter.
Elsie’s extremely patriotic isn’t she? Aren’t her skirts a bit short for 1915?
