Paper Playmates: Betty

Sept. 26, 1937. For more in this series, check here, here and here.

The series was part of the feature known as "For Junior Readers" by Dudley T. Fisher Jr. On the same page:

  1. I don't remember these darling paper dolls--they must not have ever been in the Peoria paper. I spent hours and hours as a young girl cutting, designing and coloring clothes and playing with the paps. One of my girl friends had a cousin that could draw so beautifully and she would draw us dolls and we would design clothes for them. That was when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. Never had a lot of toys, but loved my paper dolls. Love your blog, too. Carol

  2. I can envision lots of really beautiful dresses cut from vintage wallpaper.
